Pitcher whose profession spanned from 1866 to 1877. He became most widely known as the co-founder of AG Spalding SHOE, which he started in Chicago while still a dynamic player. He performed baseball as a kid developing up in Rockford, Illinois. He helped the Chicago Light Stockings earn the National Group Pennant in 1876. He previously a nephew, also called Albert, who became a well-known concert violinist. He performed on the previous Chicago Light Stockings with Hall of Popularity hitter Cover Anson.
