African-American civil legal rights crusader who led the initial primarily dark labor union, the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters. He went to the all-black senior high school Cookman Institute. He going the well-known March on Washington of 1963. His dad, Rev. Adam William Randolph, was a minister and a tailor. He was intensely influenced with the W.E.B. DuBois reserve The Souls of Dark Folk.
